CHAMPURRIA
Antonio and Manuel immigrated from Chile to San Diego to pursue their PHD education; as an indigenous queer couple they are developing a body of work based on creating an identitary space that has not been stablished in society yet. Performing my role as a welcoming ally, I documented their adaptation process in the western academic world through a variation of visual approaches that respond to the subjugating colonial gaze, highlighting their uniqueness, individuality and autonomy in the world.
