ALE SONE

Ale Sone is a Chilean-Japanese photographer currently based in Los Angeles. Her work wanders into cultural diversity, nature and identity and it's enchanted by the complexities of the human experience and its profound impact on our world.

Sone's connection with photography predates her ownership of a camera. Assisting in commercial advertisement studios for years, she developed a keen eye even before capturing her own photos. Upon her move to the United States, she confronted the challenges often faced by immigrants, experiencing isolation and longing for community. It was during this time that photography became a medium to navigate the events of her own life, offering solace and purpose.

With a B.A. in Design from the prestigious Universidad de Valparaíso in Chile, Ale, like many artists, was absorbed by the city's vibrant and creative atmosphere. During her academic journey, she had the privilege of being involved and launching a groundbreaking performing arts company called "CLAROSCURO," now recognized as OPTIKO. This transformative experience profoundly shaped Ale's artistic perception, igniting her passion for pushing boundaries, embracing innovative concepts, and embarking on explorations of spiritual and dreamlike realms.

Recently, Ale earned her MFA in Photography from the New York Film Academy, weaving together her personal story with her background in craftsmanship. Embracing the world of contemporary photography, she actively engages in freelance projects, ranging from commercial perspectives to spaces that allow her to wholeheartedly develop her passion for art and social commitment.
